ACTION
PAINTINGS
I
make a number of different kinds of action
paintings. Three kinds are shown here right now (see the squares
below my picture to the left), and I will upload more as time goes
by.
You
might be able to guess that I am a big fan of the New
York School and of abstract
expressionism.
The
work in the top row and bottom right featuring black, red, white
and metallic gold acrylics are from a body of work entited "The
McFarland Series" and, with others, were featured at two shows
in 2005: Hurricane Kate's, one of Eureka's hippest restaurants April
through June 2005, and Full Circle Art Gallery in Napa Valley during
April 2005.
The
work at bottom center featuring the black and gold is a mixed media
piece and is a combination of different techniques, primarily fumage
and fingerpainting, and a variety of materials, including smoke,
acrylic, and watercolor.
The
work at bottom left is a combination of fingerpainting and spatter
painting, It has a real oriential and, like most of my pieces, can
hang in any direction..
A
wide variety of pieces not shown here are available for inspection
at the gallery or via digital images.
Click
on the individual pieces for more information.
